Awal Mula Saya Mengenal Adsense

Oktober tahun 2007 silam, seperti biasa saya membaca Koran TEMPO seperti biasa di kantor SIRA di kawasan Peunayong Banda Aceh. Selain Tempo, SIRA juga berlangganan Kompas, Waspada, Rakyat Aceh, dan tentu Serambi Indonesia.

Saya tertarik membaca satu tulisan di halaman suplemen Koran tersebut. Selesai membaca saya langsung melakukan registrasi sebagai seorang publisher google adsense. Lama juga saya harus menunggu (2x24 jam) untuk diterima sebagai publisher. Karena saat itu, blog saya masih berbahasa Indonesia, jadi hanya menggunakan salah satu layanan saja, yaitu pencarian situs. Sementara untuk layanan content, blog Bahasa Indonesia belum dibolehkan.

Namun, saya tetap puas diterima sebagai seorang publisher. Setidaknya, dengan mendaftar program tersebut, membuat kita semakin rajin nge-blog, serta mencoba sesuatu yang baru: bisnis online. Mulanya, saya tak begitu percaya, tetapi setelah membaca laporan Koran Tempo, membuat saya yakin.

Jika ditanya, sejak pertama bermain Adsense berapa penghasilan yang saya dapatkan? Saya tak bisa menjawabnya, karena hasilnya jauh dari memuaskan. Malah, dua account saya sempat dibanned, karena diklik dari IP yang sama serta klik sendiri (maklum tak begitu tahu soal TOS om google). Meski sudah dibanned, saya tetap mencoba program ini, karena menurut saya, program ini lebih menjanjikan.

Hasil usaha saya, google baru berbaik hati mengirimkan nomor PIN untuk saya. Selebihnya, saya hanya mencoba mempromosikan blog-blog saya, yang khusus saya buat sebagai blog investasi. Nah, bagi anda yang tak sempat membaca laporan Koran TEMPO soal publisher Indonesia yang menuai sukses dari google Adsense, berikut saya lampirkan laporan tersebut, tanpa saya otak-atik sedikit pun. Semoga bermanfaat.

Bisnis Google Adsense menjanjikan pendapatan ribuan dolar per bulan.
Jangan melihat seseorang dari tampang dan penampilan, apalagi bila itu adalah Cosa Aranda. Penampilannya yang menjurus dekil telah menyembunyikan sosoknya sebagai pebisnis sukses. “Saya sering di-cuekin saat membeli barang gara-gara penampilan,” katanya melalui surat elektronik kepada Tempo pada Kamis pekan lalu. Padahal pemuda 28 tahun itu berpenghasilan US$ 5.000-10.000 per bulan. Kalau ditukar rupiah, berarti Rp 46-92 juta per bulan. Modalnya hanya seperangkat komputer, sambungan Internet, dan “duit receh” untuk membiayai domain dan hosting di dunia maya. Sumur duitnya adalah situs-situs Internet yang dibangun dan dikelolanya sendiri. Situs-situs itu terdaftar dalam program Adsense dari Google. Program inilah yang memberi mahasiswa tingkat akhir di sebuah sekolah tinggi swasta di Kota Surabaya, Jawa Timur, itu penghasilan besar.

Adsense adalah layanan iklan berbasis teks yang ditujukan untuk mendistribusikan iklan-iklan yang masuk ke situs mesin pencari Google. Program ini diluncurkan pada 2003. Google menempatkan sejumlah iklan yang sesuai dengan tema situs yang terdaftar dalam programnya. Para pebisnis Adsense disebut juga publisher akan menerima dolar pada saat pengunjung mengklik iklan yang tampil di halaman situs itu. Situs besar lain, Yahoo! dan MSN dari Microsoft, sebetulnya memiliki layanan serupa. Tapi layanan itu hanya berlaku di wilayah Amerika Serikat. Itulah mengapa Google Adsense, yang menerima publisher dari belahan dunia mana pun, lebih populer. Lagi pula sharing duit iklan itu terbilang paling besar dibanding pesaingnya. Publisher akan mendapat bagian sampai 70 persen, sisanya baru masuk ke kas Google.

Pola pembagian yang menggiurkan inilah yang menarik minat Cosa pada pertengahan 2005. “Awalnya hanya coba-coba,” katanya seraya menyebutkan pemasukan pertamanya tak sampai US$ 1. Cosa sampai-sampai membenamkan diri di dalam kamar selama berminggu-minggu untuk memperbaiki penampilan situsnya. Lambat laun pengunjung di situsnya bertambah, seiring dengan peningkatan jumlah duit. Setelah situs-situsnya mapan, Cosa kini giat berpromosi tentang Adsense dan bisnis online lewat sejumlah workshop di berbagai kota. Di situs pribadinya, www.cosaaranda.com, lelaki ini membuka kolom konsultasi dengan peminat berjubel. Cosa pun sudah kembali ke kebiasaan lamanya, membaca komik Dragon Ball dan menonton Anime atau bermain PlayStation dan Nintento Wii. Sesekali dia menyambangi toko buku, walaupun jarang membeli.

“Basah”-nya Adsense juga menarik hati Ujang, seorang lulusan sekolah menengah atas dari Semarang. Ujang adalah nama kecil lelaki kelahiran 1972 itu di dunia maya. Sebelumnya dia kerap memakai nama Hasanz. Cek pertama yang diterimanya pada Juli 2005 bernilai US$ 183. Tapi kini penghasilannya rata-rata US$ 150 per hari atau sekitar Rp 1,3 juta. Duit segitu membuat Ujang menutup kios aplikasi, game telepon seluler, dan nada dering di sebuah mal di Semarang. “Sekarang saya berfokus di bisnis online saja,” kata ayah satu anak yang sedang menanti kelahiran anak keduanya ini.

Dari Kota Gudeg Yogyakarta, jutawan lain bernama Dwi Hermawanto. Dibanding Cosa dan Ujang, lelaki ini sudah bangkotan di bisnis Adsense. Dia membuat situs dan mendaftarkannya hanya beberapa pekan setelah Adsense diluncurkan. Dwi, yang tampil di dunia maya melalui situs www.pogung177.com, menghasilkan duit rata-rata US$ 400 per bulan. Tapi dia juga masih berbisnis online yang lain, yakni Affiliate Marketing, yang diikutinya sejak 2000. Pada bisnis Affiliate, lelaki 27 tahun itu akan mendapat komisi atas keberhasilannya menjual produk-produk yang dijual toko online di Internet. Ditotal-total, kedua bisnis online itu membuat Dwi mendapat duit rata-rata US$ 800 atau Rp 7,3 jutaan per bulan. Kedua bisnis itu, kata Dwi, sama-sama menguntungkan asal dikelola dengan pintar, karena dolar tak datang tiba-tiba. “Harus pintar mencari topik yang sedikit kompetitornya tapi margin permintaannya tinggi,” kata Dwi. Ada pula yang disebut SEO alias Search Engine Optimizer, semacam mata kuliah wajib yang kudu dikuasai seorang publisher. SEO adalah ilmu mendesain situs agar bisa tampil di halaman pertama mesin pencari seperti Google, Yahoo!, atau MSN. Rahasia lain adalah keberuntungan. Kadang kala situs bagus pun jarang pengunjungnya. Sebaliknya, pengunjung situs yang jarang diperbarui malah membeludak. “Jadi banyak berdoa juga,” ujar Dwi terkekeh.

Bisnis di Internet telah membuat pundi-pundi ketiganya membengkak. Selain diputar untuk membeli domain, hosting, dan meningkatkan kapasitas situs, uang berlebih dipakai untuk berbagai keperluan. Cosa dan Ujang, misalnya, giat menabung untuk membeli rumah. Dwi malah mendirikan usaha percetakan digital serta jasa pembuatan situs dan peranti lunak komputer bersama teman-temannya. Kali lain uangnya dipakai untuk biaya kuliah.

Ketiganya yakin, bisnis online seperti Adsense tidak akan pernah mati sepanjang jaringan Internet masih bernapas. Namun, mereka juga mewaspadai persaingan yang tambah ketat. Kadang kala ada saja publisher yang main kotor. Dwi pernah menemukan kasus penjiplakan isi situs publisher dari luar negeri ataupun dari negeri sendiri.

Praktek lain yang tak kalah curangnya adalah click fraud. Cosa mengatakan itu terjadi saat seorang publisher mengklik iklan Adsense pesaingnya secara berulang-ulang dalam waktu singkat dan dengan komputer yang sama. Publisher tak berdosa itu akhirnya dihukum oleh Google yang melarang praktek semacam itu. Publisher akan di-banned atau ditendang dari keanggotaan tanpa ampun.(DEDDY SINAGA)

Sebagai blogger yang produktif, anda tentu tidak mau tulisan anda muncul di blog kesayangan anda dalam waktu bersamaan. Selain orang bosan juga tidak semua orang punya waktu membaca tulisan anda dalam waktu bersamaan.

Jika sewaktu-waktu di kala senggang anda menulis sesuatu, bahkan bisa menghasilkan beberapa tulisan, tentu anda tak berharap memunculkannya tulisan tersebut secara bersamaan. Anda bisa mensiasati waktu tayang sesuai dengan keinginan anda. Cara begini akan membantu blog selalu update, meski sesekali anda malas menulis.

Kini anda bisa mencoba fitur menarik dari blogger.com yaitu Scheduled Posts. Dengan adanya fasilitas Scheduled Posts ini, memudahkan kita melakukan pengaturan jadwal posting.

Kapan saja kita mau artikel dipost, secara otomatis sistem akan melakukannya. Caranya tinggal mengatur saja waktu postingan.

Cara melakukan setting Scheduled Posts:
1. Masuk ke http://draft.blogger.com/
2. Jika belum Login, silahkan login terlebih dahulu.
3. Pada halaman posting pilih "Pilihan Posing" atau “Post Options” arahkan ke Posting tanggal dan waktu yang kita inginkan.
4. Silakan atur tanggal dan jam kapan postingan kita akan diterbitkan.

Ketika kita menekan tombol Mempublikasikan secara otomatis postingan kita akan terjadwal dan akan diterbitkan sesuai waktu yang sudah tentukan. Jika ingin menghentikan penjadwalan tinggal simpan saja sebagai draft.
